Heather King
Paralegal Lead · Patent & Litigation Operations

Heather King serves as AddyHart’s Patent Prosecution Operations Lead, supporting the U.S. and international patent prosecution work performed through Divergent Patent Law. She is a primary operational contact for clients and works closely with patent attorneys, in-house legal teams, foreign associates, and docketing personnel to keep prosecution matters organized, accurately reported, and moving on schedule.
Heather coordinates administrative workflows throughout the patent lifecycle. Her work includes new-matter setup, USPTO filing formalities, client reporting, foreign correspondence, requests for client instructions, and filing coordination. She helps implement client-specific procedures and outside-counsel guidelines so that substantive prosecution decisions are supported by clear communications, reliable processes, and sufficient time for client review.
Before joining AddyHart, Heather worked at Volpe Koenig, where she supported patent prosecution matters and gained substantial familiarity with the administrative requirements of complex domestic and international patent portfolios. That experience makes her particularly valuable when an established portfolio or group of matters moves to AddyHart. Heather helps coordinate portfolio transitions, organize matter and deadline information, establish reporting protocols, and preserve continuity among in-house counsel, prosecution attorneys, foreign associates, and operational personnel.
At Divergent, Heather works alongside the attorneys responsible for patent application drafting, Office Action responses, examiner interviews, appeals, and portfolio strategy. Her role is to ensure that the operational side of prosecution advances the same objectives as the legal work: accuracy, timeliness, transparency, and responsive client service. Clients can look to Heather as a consistent administrative point of contact and as a practical resource for coordinating activity across U.S. and international patent portfolios.
